Well well its been awhile. We had a good easter break and spring break. The weather was generally beautiful. Several sunny yet windy days but that's why we like our trees :). We had a fun filled easter weekend. Dwights brothers came out with their families Andre surprised us on Monday night and John came on thursday. We had an appy supper on Friday night with all the Devries relatives at our place. It was nice to get together again and it was even better with all the yummy food. Appy suppers are THE best :). On Saturday the girls had their last swimming lessons. (thank you Mom ..........and Dad :). They are both off to the next level by the way and they absolutely loved the 7 or 8 saturdays of swimming lessons. I on the other hand am glad they are done:). I told them when we started swimming lessons that when they have their very last class we'll go out for icecream .....................so on saturday we had icecream at DQ with the whole entire vk family. After DQ we went to Red Rock Coulee about a good hour drive. It was sunny and warm so we picked a good day. There were huge round bronze rocks in this coulee. Lots were split in half and some were probably 7 ft - 9 ft across. Neat to see but that was really all that was there. The girls loved it and it's amazing to see them troop up and down all those hills and valleys in the coulee. ( i wanted to put some pics up but our computer is not cooperating..........really it's not me this time:). After our company left I had a nice quite week at home. Amber was home with spring break this past week and we all enjoyed it. No bus no school................. can't wait for summer. The kids lived outside on the warm days...........I was thinking "Oh i can get used to this" , Sun, gardens and no more SNOW. Although on Friday that white stuff was falling again. Yah crazy. Oh well That's Alberta for you. Any way i will stop my ramblings, it's time for bed. Goodnight yall . Sleep tight :)

Saturday Soccer and

Good times

We made it home. It was an uneventful trip back. A few flurries here and there but nothing on the road. We had a good time. Busy of course. Dad did more visiting than I did but that is fine with me. We get there and on the Thursday morning wake up to this. (Not sure why the picture isn't going below the words) Didn't last long of course. I was ordered to sew on Thursday which I did. Will be doing more of that real soon. :) Even got a good shot of Karen, no goofy face.

And there is a nice two seater chair waiting on the deck for us. Wouldn't you know it though, it snowed about half an hour after we got home. So we will wait for nicer weather and use it. Thanks.

Isn't it NICE? I love the two sets of stairs. I don't think the sidewalk will be used very much at all. And the clothes can get hung up without fear of falling. Thanks to Jeff, Dennis & Josh.

Letting you know we made it home with a grand surprise here waiting for our arrival but I am having issues with putting pictures up so will have to talk to one of the expert girls for help. Will leave you in suspense till later, probably tomorrow. :)

Mcdonalds

I finally had my first day of work at Mcdonalds.. after lots of stalls, but now its all good. Except i have to work the whole long weekend well i guess it isnt that bad cus i stop work at 2.. which is pretty awesome. Today was quite dull in teh morning though.. we were there at 6 and the next 3 hours we watched these stupid dvds telling us all about waht to do and about Mcdonalds.. I dont think i have ever watched anything more exciting and more thrilling than that.. ever. Soo ya then after that one of the managers gave us a tour of the place, then we had break. and then we went back to work for the next 4 hours.. lunch hour was a bit hecticish.. i did the drinks mostly.. man and there are like 6 ppl running around in teh front.. but it was nice to actually be doing something.. SO we stopped at 2, and then we went to Shelley beach with Henrietta and the kids.. Dwayne is gone this week for work, so its just us girls. Last night we had Ken and Johan over for supper like every monday night, and then we watched a movie Bordertown, its a thriller .. ho man haha actually its not very funny, but there was this scaryish part, the girl was looking in teh mirror and then all of a sudden there is a man whos a murderer standing behind her in the mirror.. It was soo creepy. haha well i guess it wasnt so scary but Betty screamed so loud and then that scared the shit out of me, so i screamed, and then Henrietta freaked out a bit too. lol it was quite hilarious..i guess you just had to be there.. I just read it all and it doesnt sound that interesting but oh well ill say it anyway.. but anyways about the beach, we just sat there for a bit and i took some pictures.. nothing special but its a cool beach.. So that was the extent of my day at Mcdonalds.. and the extra bonus is that i get to wear a hair net! its as ugly as ass.. sorry but its odd. No the actual bonus part is that we get everything half off.. not that ill want to be eating there all the time since i ll be around the food all the time. And another good part is that they have soft icecream cones for 50 cents.. thats insanely cheap, and its even good, its not even that small, but then i would actually get them for 25 cents, thats even better! umm i think thats it.. oh ya last week monday i just remembered cus it was quite random but me and betty went with the guys to Salmon Holes, its a beach, oh and someone had just died there a little while ago.. soo its kinda scary, but thats cus he had slipped off teh rocks and fell into the water.. But we were not on teh rocks, we were on the beach.. well we werent right away we had to go down like at least 100 stairs when it was pitch black outside.. We came cus some of the other guys had gone fishing and then caught 30 salmon after only being out there for like 2 hours, they didnt have enough guys, so they called a bunch of guys up, then me and betty came too, we were the only girls lol, but we helped carry the fish up the more than 100 stairs.. it was tiring man.. It gets dark here quite early though even, well darker in the summerish then we have back at home.. At home it gets dark at like 11 right? but here it gets dark here at like 7 now.. i guess its spring now, so its different.. I dont even know why i tried to compare the two when it doesnt even make any sense.. but anyways i think thats it for now.

Mom and Dad ~ Spring 2011

On this gloomyish Saturday morning, we all met at Crossroads and then our triple entourage (including a BC, Albertan and Washington plated vehicles) headed on over to Campbell Valley Park which was much farther away then we thought.  Karen we still love you but we were wondering exactly were you were taking us.   Now we know it's not in Aldergrove:)

We walked the Little River Loop, just a small part of the park.  The park is huge...and there's no way we could see all of it in one day.  I had never been here before.  Mom remembers coming here a long long time ago.  And Karen hadn't been here either. 

 But I do know we'll be back b/c there's a bunch of geocaches all over the place.   

The rain held off and we walked the little 2.3 kilometer circle loop.  I think it's pretty nice, lots of boardwalks which is neat.  I wouldn't let a 1 or 2 year old run free unless you feel like swimming with the ducks:)

Yah, for self timer!  And we're all there!  Uh, as in present...not sure if we're 'all there' if you know what I mean!  :D

We saw birds, and squirrels and ducks...and lots of dogs too.  We had a little picnic break complete with Carrot Cake and lawnchairs before Rob and I and the kids had to jet back to JCS for Ali's first soccer game.

Here's some pics of the last couple days hanging out with ma and pa....

On Thursday morning, Dad whipped over to Surrey to visit his old friends and Karen, Mom and the girls hung out here with me and Logan (Ali was at school). Of course, we had to show mom her brand new sewing machine!  It's a beaut!  And although it looks like she's doing ok....

...the sewing teacher says STOP!!!  :) 

Actually we were just click-happy and joking around.  Mom was doing a dandy job finishing up some of the new black/white and red mini-quilts she made for all of us Bysterkids.  And once I found the diagram for the stitches hiding in the back room it went much faster.  So much for putting things in a safe spot...I can never seem to find them back! :)

After all four of our kids played for a bit, Karen and her girls left for home.  Mom and dad ate dinner here and headed out to *watch* Karen's soccer game...lol.

The next morning Logan found Opa's cowboy boots!

Today

Hey All,
Dad and Mom made it safe and sound to the valley. We woke up to snow this morning- don't worry, we were surprised too!  it's all gone now, and just wet.  Had a bit of rain to remind Dad and Mom why they moved.  So far we are having fun.  Dad went to visit Pete Jeklin, Mom and I and the girls headed to Jens for the day.  I baked some cookies, we encouraged Mom to sew on her new sewing machine so she is busy with that at the moment.  I have a soccer game tonight that Ma and Pa might come to so Andrew can get in bed at a descent hour- he gets up at 4:15 am for work, so he needs to be in bed on time.  Anyway, I better get going now, so hope you all are doing well.  I will post pics again, but I gotta wait for an external harddrive for all my many pics!

Not much is going on right now, so I'm just gonna put up some old pics.. its a bit delayed, but i did surf.. or attempt to surf.. sure the waves werent very big at all but thats not the point it involved a surfboard and waves.. So i did keep my promise :D I'll even make it look even cooler than it was. I failed at it every single time.. it was embarassing... Now just picture me on waves like this! :D like in the first one...

Logan just opened this up a few minutes ago and he'd like to give a BIG thankyou to Opa, Oma, Aunty Ro and Aunty Teri for the swimming lessons money! 

And I want to say thankyou too!  :)

Okay that title was supposed to be for this but.............I'll get it right sometime :) Anyway we went to Manitoba on Monday and we made it back safe and sound today (friday) at just before supper. We had a lot of fun but it is great to be back home to the girls again. We delivered a harvester to Dwights Uncle and Aunt and we stayed for a few nights. I've never seen so much water in the fields anywhere until we went there. It's crazy and while we were there we got a grand tour of Carman, drank lots of coffee, or tea in my case and also went flying in a little cessna plane with Dwight and his cousin Duard. It was tiny and pretty neat but I got motion sickness half way through so i was glad to be on land again (Yah bif wimp i know :). Anyway it's good to be home and the girls were very happy to see us again and we got lots of hugs and giggles.

Maybe this will work.

So, I've been feeling nostalgic. At least I think I've been feeling that. Hopefully its the right meaning. Dawna come home please?!?!?! I miss this...

Guess who? We are reading from Judges. Reading Chap. 5 last night brought us to the song of Deborah. So what did the person who was reading decide to do but...........start singing, which made the rest of us burst into laughter. But after we got under control again said maybe that was not a good thing to do since it was the Bible. Bad hey? Though I still snicker thinking about it. We are having SUN. It feels great. And I have been able to dry my laundry outside. Have a great day! Mom
