I am finally done! here are the last pictures i want to put up, they are kinda the same but i wanted to put up so pretty pictures too :D and these kids were so adorable i had to take a picture of them. .The dad saw that i was taking a picture so he told them to smile..it was so cute.. And the funny thing is every one of them is smiling and happy, they like how they live, i dont think they would change it either.. I think i could have definitely stayed there longer, but thats ok i guess, i will never ever forget about all that.. bartering was fun too, well most of the time, there was this one guy, i was looking at sunglasses, and he was like i give you good price, they all say that so i just ignored him, and kept looking, i tried some on, and then i asked how much? he gave a price, and i just laughed, then i gave a price, and he cursed.. he said his price again, saying they were good quality and all that shit, i was like no this price, then he would curse and say no serious price, but i said i was serious, in the end i didnt get any, he got so pissed off, he muttered stuff and was like f off and get out if you no buy, i was like what?! then he said it again, i was pissed off at him man. The next day we saw him and betty and mel told him that he was mean to their friend so he better say sorry to me, lol in the end he did to say sorry to me.. sorry about some of the pictures being sideways, i forgot to turn them.. i could go on with the stories but ive been on here way way too long. These steps are just an example of how many we had to go up, i think they said there were like 500 or something like that. It was after white water rafting, which went 12 km down river, it was fun, we had to go over this waterfall thing, and we ahd to lean allll the way back, lol it was hilarious, i thought it would be wayy bigger but it wasnt that bad. We were just screaming though while going over. Then at the end you had climbup about 100 steps, where we could have lunch and change into dry clothes, the lunch was indonesain so there was like noodles, and nasi goreng, and tuna shit, and chicken. and some fruit. Definetly not my type of food, but it was fine. Then we had to climb the rest of the way up.. i thought it would be way worse, the steps were really steep so it was kinda tiring, and man it was so hot too. it was always hot and humid there though. You sweat so so much its insane, and you hve to drink a ton of water, and walk everywhere man, it was cool though walking every where. im talking about bali now, but anyways you see in the last picture theres that lady and theres that bag of bracelets of stuff? every one of those ladys on the beach had at least 4 of those frickin things, and they have like necklaces, bracelets, key chains, metal statue things, so if you just look at one bag, they leave for a second and come back with another 3 bags, with bags in the bags, there is so much shit. They just walk around with bags of stuff.

those fish were so weird. In every massage place, which was like every 4th store, they had these tanks of water with fish in them. The fish eat all the dead skin on your hands, feet or whatever, its kinda creepy but cool at teh same time. I could never keep my hand in there for long at all, i just got creeped out. Betty put her hand in there for the picture. The last two pictures are at the beach, which was right on the other side of the wall of the resort thing, The first day we went on the beach, we didnt know what to expect at all. There were a ton of ppl selling stuff saying You buy! you buy!?? Cheap price! magic price!? you want watch? sunglasses!! Cheap price. Cheap! You say you buy but you no buy! you break my heart, you made me cry!! THats basically all we heard.. and they just dont give up either. WE had like little 3 year olds selling us these leather bracelet things, it was so sad.. And when you look at one kids stuff they all come and hound me. I had it with my one tattoo that the guy was doing, betty and mel had just left for a second to get some money from the hotel. We even tried to move fromthe kids but they just followed me and surrounded me and the guy doingmy tattoo thing. I was like please just let me stand up, after he was done, i was jus tlike frick, i could barely move from the bench. AFter a couple days they got better cus they got to know who we were a bit

Plans have changed now, we phoned mcdonalds asking about when we have to work, because there were no rosters up on our website thing. The guy misunderstood when i said that we needed the monday off, but we ended up haveing another week off from work, Thats fine me and betty are just gonna stay with mary and eric for this week, and he ll give us stuff to do here that he hasnt gotten around to. Anyways Im just gonna put some pictures up, and hopefully you get an idea of how it was like. :D probably gonna take awhile to put them up,but i will just be patient In one of the pictures there is me and betty with us eating fish legs.. i was so disgusted at first but i did it!

ok So that wasnt very bright of me..
SO, i have had a very exciting week.. Like seriously it was so much fun, and it was probably a shock of my life. You just dont know how great youve got it until you see ppl who have less than you.. I wouldnt even be able to start to explain how it is but i shall try. I was only there for 5 days, well 6 if you count saturday early morning when we left for the airport, but man me and betty got picked up from the airport, and wow the driving there is mental, its unreal. There are sooo many scooters, and vehicles on the road. i cant even explain it. I cant see how theres no accidents because they drive so close together, and the scooters all drive around the vehicles, man its insane, ill have to put some pictures up, and hopefully theyll kinda give you an idea. I got my hair braided on monday, and i just took it out now, like they were all in little braids with beads. And then on tuesday we went shopping, gotta explain that but later, cus im at mary and erics right now so i cant really do that right now. And on Wednesday me and betty went white water rafting! that was lots of fun.. Man there is so much to talk about i dont know where to start so ill just wait until i can put pictures up so itll make more sense. I got 3 henna tattoos :D :P one on my shoulder, one on my foot and one on my wrist. They were all freehand and they are so cool.. the 2 are bigger with like flowers and stuff and then the one onmy wrist is just some stars.. I pretty much went all out with the braids and tattooes, bought clothes jewellery and movies.. and supper too. It was so hot there too, you walk alot. We went to a place called Dempasar. There are these big buildings and they have markets in there, its not at all like the mall not even close, there are so many little shop things in there you can barely even walk through, and it stank so bad, just it was so crowded. its shop after shop after shop, and theres the same thing in almost every 2 or 3 stores, one could have purses, bags, sunglasses, shirts, dresses, watches. Then the next is like a jewellery store with all sorts of stuff, with at least 10 times as much jewellery as like a claires, and probably in less space, then the next will have tons and tons of movies which are a dollar each, then the next shop could be a wooden carving shop. And theres lots of massage places, i got a foot massage and pedicure for 55000 Rp so thats like $5.50 Australian and a full body one for the same price too and tahts for a full hour. And they are really good. Man i could almost go there again. ill just wait till i put pictures up to tell what all happened.. and there are little kids they are so cute, they sell these leather bracelet things for like 2 dollars, man i didnt even need that many but i bought them anyway cus i felt so sorry for them. with teh henna tattoos i was just looking through the book of them, theres more than one guy who does that. but i kinda picked one but he said no not those then he just drew one on my foot as an example, i liked it alot, so i got it, the same guy did all three of mine, he was really good. its so hard to even begin to say what it was like though. So for now ill say that was so much fun, and not at all a waste of money. i only spent probably about $15-20 a day on food and drinks, the food was really good too though, you would get just as much as you would at a restaurant back at home. we got free breakfast every morning from the hotel, there was like bacon, eggs, waffles, pancakes, cereal, hashbrown/potatoes, yogurt, fruit, breads, and there was even like fried noodles, and other indonesian food like that. And you could go back as often as you wanted from 6 30 till 10, and the waffles were really good and huge, the eggs were made right when you asked and you could pick how you wanted them.. it was good. but i shall finish later, im kinda tired. The plane ride back was probaly the best one yet for me, i wasnt feeling like shit at all after, the landing is usually the worst for me but it was really good, But anyways ill stop now

Happenings since mid- April...

When we arrived home after our nice stay with Jen & Karen's families we were very pleasantly surprised with this-


And we see a furry friend once in a while too: and yes there was snow on the ground yet and it even snowed like 1/2 an hour after we got home. What is it with us and snow :)

Shortly after that we went on another outing, to a Mother's Day tea that Amber invited me to, and Dad was my willing and handsome(?)chauffeur.

The entertainers were beating their instruments to the beat of Jeopardy. Nicely done Amber!

Then we thought we were getting a dog but alas he only stayed the weekend before his owner demanded him back. Too bad too because he was a calm and older dog. Not meant to be though.


We are getting bunker #2 constructed. The floor was poured on Fri. the wall this week hopefully.


Our tree went from no blossoms to full of blossoms overnight. It is very nice to see. (Missy was fiddling around with my camera and changed the aperture but the close up is blurry and the further away is clear) The grass also went from brown to green very fast. We mowed for the first time on May 14 and will have to mow weekly for the next little bit, till it dries out again. We had rain Sunday night and right now it is cloudy and looks like rain but not yet. It is good news for the grain farmers since they just or almost finished planting their seed so now the rain would be a welcome sight. Our manure is getting spread as I write and then the barley will get planted shortly thereafter.


Bentley has been spending some time here since Missy has taken to driving the Co-op truck for the bread run 2 times a week. But yesterday she was here because her daddy is working at opening some sections on the north side of the main barn for more air flow. It is the plan to have doors that will open in Spring and be closed in winter. Bentley & Damon, for a bit too, had fun on the deck yesterday.


And of course you all saw the roof and what wind can do. It has plastic on it but no quote has come to us yet so we still wait for service. I guess they are just too busy to be bothered by a little job like this. It doesn't help that a long weekend was in there too. I think Dad will call today to see who will do it. Insurance has given us money to replace the whole roof so that is nice especially since Dad was planning on having it done last year but for whatever reason, I can't remember why, it wasn't done.

What we did on our holiday weekend....

On Friday it was Crayon day...she was the only yellow.  Pretty nifty how the bus in the background looks like a crayola box.  And that was her idea.  She is at the very cusp of beginning to outsmart/think me.  Gulp.

On Saturday we spent the whole afternoon at Island 22, geocaching, finding 7 out of 8.  That place is a pretty cool place to walk around. I've only ever gone there to hop on a boat to get to Grassy Bar.  

This is how our garden looks right now, unplanted, except for the raspberries and leeks.  And it's THE weekend. 'The garden gets planted' weekend.  Not this year.  Maybe in a couple weeks or so.  It's still pretty nippy out there at night.

I made up these 4 hanging baskets for Matt's 88-ish year old customer.  It was very fun.  It's a bit nerve-wracking to do something that somebody has put out an order for.  I've never worked with moss and wire hanging baskets before.  They smell delectable, so if the old lady is blind then she can at least smell them. ok, maybe that wasn't nice.  :)

Leanne, you would be so proud.  I started these tomatoes out as seeds....some from the ones you gave me last year.  I figured maybe a few might come up.  Hmm.  There's 41 pots with healthy tomato plants growin' like stink and 11 pepper plants.  Good thing I love tomatoes!
