Hello all. Thought I would do a short post, no pictures this time. Don't want to get an earful for not posting any news. :P So Gpa & Gma left for Edmonton Friday a.m. They weren't feeling well so postponed leaving by a couple of hours. They did not stay at Aunt Aaf's party too long. They were staying at Aunt Mennies, so they went there and went to bed. They think they caught something at D & L's b/c Dayna was sick when they were there. So it isn't my cooking :p
Anyway, field work has started. Did the grass field. Last year it yielded 55 loads and this year 25. Go figure. What with all the snow we had you would think the fields would be wet but no. Things are really dry here. The alfalfa field was started too with it laying in the field yet and then of course some rain came. not that much fell here. It is still something hard to imagine but just down the road more rain fell than here. Other people talk about 1/2" of rain or more and we talk less than 1/4", which of course it not enough to do anything but settle the dust. . Ya I know all farmers do is complain. :) Since not that much rain fell they might be able to haul it in yet today. Dad is trying to get the fields done before the gr 7-8 camping trip so that he can come along.
Last night we had to go to the Rev.'s house for a council get together. He does this every year. Lots of food and just mingle with the other members of council.
Dad had a hard time finding us in the bench at church. Yesterday he comes out of the door and looks and looks and slows down trying to find us till Cindy VandeRiet points us out to him. I want to try to be in the same bench every time but if it is taken what can I do? I think Dad will be able to sit with us every third week so then is when it counts. He says when you come out of the door all you see is a sea of people. So I know it is hard to find someone in that. Maybe I should wear an outrageous hat or have a card on a stick 'Here I am'.We will see how things work.
Today I plan to go to the city to buy the food for the camping trip. It will be a busy week, b/c I am head food organizer for this with everything having to be ready to go on Monday (and you know I hated starting holidays on a Monday) and on Friday I have to help with Rev. Tiggelaar's retirement dinner and then there is the field work. Hope I stay sane.
Anyway hope that tides you over, got to take a shower so that I can leave when the girls leave. Have a great day and week. Love you.
Update. I went to the city but before I left Dad says who is going to help so I said Missy, which she willingly did. Then then Jo gets a phone call about 1ish (cause our phone still isn't fixed) that R & T can get picked b/c power was out at school since 11. So Dad got it real lucky b/c then Ro could go out in the field too. 27 loads were brought in yesterday and the rest of the field cut ( Dad figures 30 loads worth) but NOW the RAIN comes, and the forecast isn't great for the rest of the week. So only time will tell if Dad comes camping with us.
Phone is supposed to get repaired tomorrow (Wed.) That's all.

Hey mom! I totally don't even remember reading this (but I did, and just read it again:) But I love it. lol, I called Missy while she was raking on her cell phone:)
Karen told me you guys both went on the camping trip with Teri. I think that's pretty cool. I bet dad especially had fun getting into (harmless) trouble with the kids. I did not call for his b-day b/c you were gone...but I really should have left a message.
Thanks for putting up this day-in-the-life blurb mom, but who would have given you an earful? :D
