Apple Pie recipe for Leanne

Apple Pie filling:

1 1/2 cups flour
3 cups sugar
1 TBSP cinnamon
24 cups 2cm x 2cm apple pieces

Mix all together in a huge bowl and put in pie shells right away before it gets goopy.
Filling that sits too long makes goopy ugly runny pies.
Fills 4 1/2 pies.

If you also want the measurements for your crust.  It's 200 grams for the bottoms and 250 grams for the tops for a 9 inch deep dish pie.

September and October

 Bentley being... Bentley. Trampoline time! Of course she spilled all the lego right before we had to be somewhere so we were late. Bath time with the craaazy mom! 'I'm just a pretend mom!!'. Crazy faces. Goggles in the bath - she does actually hold her breath in there. Picture taking. Her wedding dress, and that's not her veil, its her hair - and after you get married you have a baby, that's what shes holding. And shes convinced Nicole is having baby now that shes married. Playdough. Teacher?

We went for a walk, fed the ponies, went to check out the little church and took some pictures by the bails and raced down the hill

I attempted a photo shoot, it failed. I was getting so frustrated so none worked of me in there with them. One day I'll suck it up and get someone to take our pictures for us... maybe.

The little stinker. She had her shots on Thursday and weighed in at 12.13. Shes a porker!! :) But a happy, healthy, sleepy one!

You know what? Everyone sucks at replying to posts and I think we should change that!!! I demand at least 30 comments to this!!!

Here you go Leanne...Our hike up Mt. Cheam

Climbing Mt. Cheam on Saturday...it was a dream of mine to climb this thing. Originalyl our plan was to have a fire at the river with the Thalen's and it somehow got changed to this...lol.  

It's usually covered in too much snow for a good chunk of the year and we don't have the gear or knowledge to hike and come back down alive in it:)  

(Then on Sunday we were at Schouten's and Mr. told us about how the snow curls into a humongous wave at the top, there's no way to know if you are standing on snow or mt., or getting caught in an avalanche:)

But it's been a sunny October and we figured we give it a shot.  On the way up we saw the logging road behind us lined in yellow leaved trees...looked kinda cool.  

This is Lady Peak (or 'Doghead' as most people call it.)

Up close. There were a bunch of people climbing this one too...they are at the bottom of the pic in that patch of snow...about 8 of them, very hard to see them. They got the the top at the same time we got to the peak of Cheam.

Facing south, there's Mt. Baker way in the distance...

Ali, looking pooped but pumped to have made it up.  This is facing north...Chilliwack (and Harrison Lake) is down below.  She crashed near the top, needing water and a sugar boost.  Def need to pack more water and sugary snacks for this kind of hike.  We could put snow it our cups but it couldn't melt fast enough.  We only got drips at a time.

The guys up there happened to be in Rob's geography class.  Small world. They planned to sleep up there but in the end baled and came back down at 8pm.

 See how close we were to the edge...us moms were a little (lot) freaked to have the kids monkeying around up there, running after their garbage at it flew over the edge!!!!!    

I never made it closer to the edge then this.  The kids were braver then I!  

Woohoo!!  

The kids want to come back for Christmas....haha. So not happening:)

Couple weeks ago we 'babysat' some VK cuties...

The next day, while Leanne and Dayna stayed home from church to puke:), Amber came over for lunch.  They played Operation...

Then they ate the pumpkin treats from the R&R's wedding.  Anyone got a idea as to what dad thinks they kinda look like??  :D

Amber and Ali played piano a bit too.  They each played a different song at the same time, which was kinda hard to do.  (See flyswatter.....

Damon and Kate were very upset yesterday when they couldn't play in the snow so that's what they did first thing after breakfast this morning. :)

 I love her touque!

 

 Damon figured it was a good idea to pile snow on top of kate when she laid down. :)

 

after that we had some quality family fun carving pumpkins.

 Damon didn't want to stick his hand in there but kate had no qualms whatsoever.

 

 they had a lot of fun making each other sticky. what a mess.

 and beth just hung out here playing by herself and happy to not be bombarded by damon and kate for once.
