late Sept-Oct2013

We trekked out to Science World on free day, Sat the 28th.
It was busy in there but doable....but then, at noon it was a gongshow.  You could hardly move....so we left. It was pouring....probably one of those record rainfall days.  We 'Lower Mainlanders' even thought it was bad so I can't imagine what people from Alberta would have thought:)

A trick mirror made Logan into an alien....

and Ali played with the 'Nail Wall'.

The harbour....

Ali is trying to pretend to hold fish like the statue man was.  I think this is a carving they put here during the Olympics.

Then it stopped raining.  I know I know, but it's true.
So last Sat, the 4th, me and the kids went to a trail behind Cultus (Liumchen trail) and found this crazy mushroom.  It was huge!

We found a tiny gardner snake.  I think it was run over by a quad or I guess we could have accidently stepped on it too....it was bleeding from the head a bit but Ali put it in a cracker box, nestled it up in vegetation, put it in the truck and wanted to quickly take it to a snake vet.  Ummmmm, yah.
Thankfully the thing died before we got off the mountain.  So we chucked it back to nature so it could be ...uh, back to nature I guess.

It was still sunny so on Sunday we hiked up Mt Thom.  Even Audrey has been up here...kinda:)

There's Cultus Lake on the left, Ali's head it about where we live and Vedder Mountain, where Jeff and Jolene got engaged if I'm remembering right:) is in the middle.

It was still sunny the next day, on Monday, so Logan's whole Grade 1 class of 28 went to the pumpkin patch.  Fun stuff...

Then, on Thursday night we got mischievous little Roxy....so Friday morning we took her for her first walk on the dike.

Next up, our Thanksgiving weekend with Mom and Dad, Old Oma, Grandma, the Demooy's and Vk's...
