Saturday morning made reservations for the 10 of us at 9:30 at ABC...yum!
Ummm, this is mom and dad.
And me and dad.
And Mom showing/reading Grandma's memory quilt label. I think Karen took these pics:)
We had some time to kill after breakfast so we went to Mill Lake park on the Bourquin side. (Rob and Andrew both had to go after breaky. Rob went on a water sampling fieldtrip and Andrew got dropped off at the border and went golfing.) So we were down to the 8 of us.
I found out dad might partake in the Special Olympics next year, right dad? And he likes to tell John Deere jokes to strangers...who got very defensive about owning a JD bike:)
Here's mom....I think Karen got the camera again:)
We sat and watched and the kids played.
Well, kinda played. These two girls had a little squabble:)
But Opa turned them into friends again.
It's kinda a cool pic of these 3....I really like it:)
Off to look at the water. And ducks.
The tour started at 1pm and went every 15 minutes. We got there in time for the 1:15 tour. There was a butt load of CanReffers there. I think we were done at 2:30ish.
So here's the inside of the Tabernacle, in the courtyard...
The altar of burnt offerings, and the laver.
The Lampstand and the Table of Showbread in the Holy Place.
...and the altar of incense you can kinda see by the curtain to the Most Holy Place.
And the heads of Flokstra's and Doesburg's:)
Oh, here's the Altar of Incense again.
The Arc of the Covenant in the Most Holy Place.
I'm not sure if it's all according to size but they tried to copy it as best at they could understand from the Bible passages.
Here's what they figure a High Priest would have looked like. She told us about the plate on his forehead, what the different colours meant and the stones on his shoulders, etc.
And this is Grandma's quilt, (uh, not in the Tabernacle:) She's got 21 of Grandpa's shirt sleeves in there. :)

A real life tabernacle? Where?
Yep, real life replica. It was in Abbotsford beside the freeway in a farmers field near Whatcom. Free. So Mom, Dad, me, Karen and kiddos went after breakfast on Saturday.
I had been there a few days before with the grade 6 and 7's and thought it was kinda neat and told mom and Kar about it.
I like that picture of Dad with the girls :) And the tabernacle looks really cool!
